Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's Treasure Island (映画ドラえもん のび太の宝島 Eiga Doraemon Nobita no Takarajima ) is a Japanese science fiction anime film. It is the 38th Doraemon film. The story is based on Robert Louis Stevenson 's Treasure Island novel, with a screenplay written by Genki Kawamura - the producer of
Your Name and The Boy and the Beast . Kazuaki Imai, an episode director on the Doraemon television anime, is directing the project as his first Doraemon franchise film.

Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's Treasure Island earned $7.97 million on 716,629 admissions in its first weekend and ranked number-one on Japanese box office. Its opening weekend is considered as the highest among all the films in the franchise and became the first Doraemon film to cross ¥5 billion and the highest attended film with over 4.6 million admissions.
